Padmasini Dayananda, Global Head of Volunteering led Social Impact at Cognizant, a multinational IT services and consulting company, reflects on her Social Mobility Project of the Year win at the Women in IT UK Awards earlier this year, and her role in ensuring that Cognizant uses its innovative services to empower women and other underrepresented groups globally with digital skills.

My program of pride “Social Digital Empowerment Program” won the Industry award by Employee engagement for Social Responsibility.This aims to bridge the gap between educational curriculum and market demands. Aimed at improving social mobility and providing a level playing field.

I take pride in the distinction of being one of 30 women to be selected for Cognizant’s Women’s Global Leadership Programme: a prestigious programme for women leaders in the organisation.

I am a certified Life Transformation Coach passionate about supporting people to respond to life changes with clarity or plan changes to pursue their ideal state of being.

It was a truly special internationalwomensday celebrated at No.10 Downing Street by invite from the Prime Minister.

It was a reception to launch the initiative to provide 12 years of quality education and digital skills for the future, to girls from the common wealth countries. A subject close to my heart and at the center of Cognizant Outreach ‘s strategy. What stood out in our proposal was a commitment of volunteer mentors to drive this program to success .
